PistenBully grooms the slopes for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Saalbach 2025:
Perfect slopes under all conditions

Laupheim, 17.02.2025. Everything was just right at the 2025 Alpine World Ski Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm: Perfect weather, enthusiastic spectators, impressive top performances, successful and happy athletes. And a satisfied organization team that can look back on this major event with pride. An important basic requirement is that the race slopes can be relied upon. In order to guarantee consistently perfect slope conditions, the experienced professionals from Kässbohrer were chosen. As official supplier, the powerhouses from Laupheim ensure professional preparation. For a mega-event that was successful all along the line.
Eight PistenBully machines were available before and during the competitions, including five PistenBully 800s. With their 612 hp, they are the most powerful snow groomers in the world. And at the same time the most efficient. This is because the red powerhouses bring around a third more power to the piste than any other. And that in the low speed range. That's why they are so economical. The result: less fuel consumption, less CO2.
“Races have now taken place here every day for 14 days - a ski slope has to be able to withstand that,” explains Fritz Steger, slope manager for the 2025 World Ski Championships. ”The right set-up is crucial - it starts with the snowmaking. The slope has to be laid out correctly from the ground up in order to meet the athletes' requirements. The PistenBully 800 was just what we needed for pushing. Its pushing power and climbing performance are unbeatable. And on the particularly steep sections of the course, the ActiveWinch shows what it's all about: optimum steering in extreme conditions, track stability and therefore noticeable relief for the drivers.”
Those responsible for the World Championships had booked the “all-round carefree package”: In addition to the 8 snow groomers, snow blowers were provided, service technicians from Kässbohrer Austria were on standby with spare parts at all times, and three drivers from the PRO ACADEMY team had the team's back in Saalbach and provided support with the many challenging tasks. In addition, a PistenBully 100 was available to ensure smooth parking lot and trail management. This ensured that all potential emergencies were covered. Good thing none occurred!
Christian Paar, Managing Director of Kässbohrer Austria, is beaming: “What a World Cup! We were once again delighted and very proud to play a key role in such a major event: PistenBully was already involved in the first World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in 1991. We can look back on a long and trusting journey and are delighted that we were able to contribute to a successful World Championships once again this time: The best slopes, clean, perfectly groomed - it's nice to have this confirmed by the athletes and FIS experts!”
And all the better as Saalbach-Hinterglemm has decided to keep all the vehicles after the World Championships...

Because SNOWsat LiDAR measures the existing snow depth, enormous resources can be saved for the production of technical snow and therefore a lot of money and time.
